After the ceremony, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Hirschen, just across the village square, for reception, dinner and celebrations.
How to get there
The village Schwarzenberg is situated in Austria's most Western province Vorarlberg, on the borders to Switzerland and Germany, in the beautiful valley Bregenzerwald. It can be reached easily from Bregenz or Dornbirn by car in about 15 minutes.
The village is small, please talk to your hotel to make sure you have a parking spot.
- Friedrichshafen (D):
a.o. airberlin (Porto, Vienna), germanwings (Belgrade, Berlin, Cologne, London, Stockholm), intersky (Berlin, Vienna) - Memmingen (D):

Where to sleep
The dinner and celebrations take place in the 'Hirschen', which is both restaurant and hotel. All guest rooms of the 'Hirschen' are being held for our party and we will stay there as well; so if you book fast enough and get one of these rooms, we can share a pre-brunch coffee on Sunday:

Further rooms in Schwarzenberg in walking distance (drink, don't drive):
We'd appreciate if those of you who will dance with us until the sun goes up (you know who you are!) would book either directly in the Hirschen or otherwise take a room in walking distance. Taxis are rare in this region and we don't want you to drink and drive.
There is a second guest house in Schwarzenberg, the 'Haus Engel'. We have reserved the whole house (54 beds in rooms for 2-8 people), but be aware that there is no service at all, and that it is a VERY simple accomodation. If you don't care much for luxuriousness and don't mind sharing room and bathroom, but want to be close to the venue; we suggest you book a bed here.

If you prefer city-vibe to cows and mountains, you can of course book a room in one of the hotels of Dornbirn e.g. Dreilaenderblick, Katharinenhof, Harry’s Home, Zum Verwalter, etc. Just remember that this means a 20 minutes drive through the mountains.
What to wear
We have decided against a formal dress-code, because you, our guests, come from a variety of countries with different traditions. We just want you to be yourselves and enjoy these days with us, so please wear what you would wear to a wedding at home and what makes you feel good. Those with traditional (Austrian) attire are very welcome to wear it!
For the ladies:
- High heels are no problem in Schwarzenberg, but might be less ideal on Sunday morning: the brunch is half way up the mountain.
Brunch
On Sunday, 27 May 2012, at 11.30 a.m., we'll meet again for the Austrian version of brunch ("Fruehschoppen") at the Haldenstueble above Schwarzenberg.
The easiest way to get there is by bus:
- the bus stop is right in front of the 'Hirschen',
- you take the bus 38 in direction 'Boedele, Dornbirn',
- the ride takes less than 10 minutes,
- you get off at the stop 'Spielmooslift', and
- you walk the remaining 600m (there will be indications).
You can take your car of course, but we'd advise you not to: there are few parking spots, let us leave them to those with small children or walking handicaps please.
Your children
Please let us know in advance whether you will bring your children, so we can plan ahead.
Other things to see and do
The weekend we have chosen is Pentecost, so you will probably have a few days off work. This is a beautiful region of Austria, make use of being here!
You can stay close to Schwarzenberg and go for walks in what the people of the region call the 'cow alps': moderate altitude changes, rich vegetation, beautiful forests and many cows. Moving just a little bit deeper into the Alps, you will find beautiful hiking and mountain-biking grounds, including Vorarlberg's highest mountain, the Piz Buin (3312m).
You can also leave the mountains and drive to the Lake of Constance, which is only 20 minutes away. This is Europe's third biggest lake, bordering Austria, Germany and Switzerland. You can visit Bregenz and its famous opera stage on the lake; take a boat to Lindau or to the island Mainau and its famous gardens; or take the cable car up the mountain Pfaender for a beautiful view on the whole lake.
Talk to us and we will help you arrange the perfect stay!
***We are looking forward to celebrating with you!***
